RFID Weapons Tracking

IDZ Technologies, Inc., designer and developer of the ItelmaticTM, is pleased to announce it will now be tracking weapons using RFID in their automated, self-sustained item tracking system. Through a partnership with Navigator Development Group, Inc., this system will initially be used as part of a program at Wallace Community College Selma (WCCS) in the Advanced Visualization Center.

IDZ has been using the same system for the past four years to track tools in the Air Force and are excited about expanding the scope of this solution to include not only tools and weapons, but other critical assets that need to be accurately accounted for in real-time.

IDZ marries RFID and Artificial Intelligence

IDZ Technologies, Inc., industry leader in the research and development of automatic tool and asset management solutions, is excited to announce the award of another U.S. patent, designed to use RFID technology and artificial intelligence as a system and method for optimizing resources in a supply chain. IDZ has already generated two US patents and 22 pending patents in its four years of operation and continues to develop cutting-edge technologies to support clients in the aerospace and military sectors leading to significant reallocation of man-hours to productive activity and increased accountability on all levels of maintenance, repair, and operations.

“With the growing amount of items automatically tracked using RFID resulting in the growing amount of data, decision making processes that consider all individual and unique information become remarkably complex, even for the most modern computing equipment, when working under the traditional paradigm. Here is where a natural marriage evolves,” says Adalberto Teran, CEO of IDZ Technologies, Inc. “The artificial intelligence area brings a natural solution to the automatic data collection systems. In particular, the branches of artificial intelligence created for decision making aid in a complex set of countless options, such as evolutionary computation (i.e. genetic algorithms and neuronal networks), will provide the organization an unparalleled direction, based on all information received.”

The amount of companies and industries utilizing RFID technology is growing at astounding rates due to the fact that this type of technology automates data collection and is able to read multiple IDs at the same time without line of sight. Applications worldwide are emerging where organizations are tagging items ranging from boxes and pallets to vehicles and even humans. As a consequence the amount of data being received is typically more than current systems can process resulting in the loss of a key opportunity for analyzing these large amount of data an making timely, well-informed decisions.

With IDZ’s utilization of both RFID technology and artificial intelligence “all of these decisions are made considering the best criteria, based in the most brilliant minds of the company, and the experience obtained from the whole industry,” says Teran.

Although there is no guarantee that the decision made by the system will be the absolute best, the user can be confident that a good decision was made, considering the parameters that were introduced by a group of field experts. However, over a very short period of time, the system is capable of learning from past decisions through utilizing the Learning Systems, which use neuronal networks, among other paradigms, to make the system continuously more intelligent after every decision.

IDZ’s patented approach is used in the design of their solutions where they automatically analyze the processes that range from the intelligent purchasing of items to the daily accurate control of tools and assets. These functions are being utilized on a daily basis in the supply chain of tools and assets for the military and aerospace industry.
